Women and Young Women to Vienna and Beyond: A Women’s Networking Zone at AIDS2010.

Building on a decade of women’s organising at and around the International AIDS Conference, the Women’s Networking Zone (WNZ) AIDS2010 will take place in the Global Village of the International AIDS Conference in Vienna from the 18th to the 23rd of July 2010. The WNZAIDS2010 builds on a consultative process from 2008 to 2010 to identify key issues affecting women and young women in relation to HIV and AIDS in the Europe and Central Asia region, including stigma and discrimination, motherhood, sex and sexuality, harm reduction and sex workers’ rights. The process has been led by and inclusive of women and young women living with HIV, whose leadership the WNZ seeks to promote while encouraging linkages between positive, negative and untested women locally, regionally and globally. Our message for AIDS2010:

“WOMEN’S RIGHTS HERE, RIGHT NOW!”

Este é um novo website para as mulheres da Europa e da Ásia Central que trabalham em questões relacionadas com a saúde sexual e reprodutiva que afectam as mulheres e jovens mulheres em toda esta região. O novo site será multilingue para permitir a partilha, às mulheres de diferentes idiomas em toda a região, das questões que enfrentamos, as visões que temos e do trabalho que estamos a realizar para tornar realidade essas visões.

Tendo como marco a nossa reunião realizada em Viena, de 30 Outubro a 1 Novembro de 2009, encontramo-nos a planear em conjunto para a Conferência Internacional de SIDA (International AIDS Conference) a realizar-se em Viena, em Julho de 2010 assim como também planeamos trabalhar em conjunto para além desta conferência em toda a região. Na reunião em Viena, participaram mulheres dos seguintes países:
Albânia Arménia Áustria França Alemanha Quirguistão Itália Costa do Marfim Letónia Holanda Portugal Roménia Rússia África do Sul Espanha Suíça Reino Unido Estados Unidos Zâmbia.

A reunião foi gentilmente acolhida pela AIDSHilfe Viena e financiada, principalmente, pela Fundação Ford (através do Institute of International Education) e da IPPF. Algumas participantes obtiveram financiamento através de suas próprias fontes.
